I painted this model 2 months ago, and I want to share the step by step with all of you.The paint process is very complex because I combined Color Modulation with 3 tone camoflage, but also the hairspray technique en each layer of color. It is very complex and need a lot of time, but I hope you like it and I think you will undertand thios process with the photos. The color modulation was invented by my self and developed by Adam wilder when he was working for me in Mig productions. We were working together in many ideas and teories about the Color Modulation.
Here the step by step.
THis is the frist step. All model with color modulation. Basic step. the look is a like a 3D render from a videogame.
Each camoflage layer is also modulated, but also between layer and layer I applied HAIRSPRAY to allow make chips and scratches in next steps.
Please, note the gradient in the green color too. It is modulation.
Now with water, we will make the chips and scratches. Don't forget than under the green color there is HAIRSPRAY.
Between each layer of color and hairspray, is necesary to apply satin varnish.
Model ready for weathering.
CHips painted with Vallejo ACrylic paints.
Streaking grime made with the new AK products. Is very easy and the look is very realistic.
Stump the lines with clean white spirit and a brush.
Final look after the streaking grime and streaking rust.
Now is time for dust made with Tamiya paints.
The RAINMARKS is made also with AK products, painting fine lines.
And now, mixing AK products with plaster we will make the splashed dry mud. Use and airbrush to project air to the brush.
Now the same but using dark colors for fresh mud.
Fresh mud mixture is good to make the streaking mud in the sides. It is a bit clossy.
